Project Description

Job Summary: As a Welding Robot Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining robotic welding systems to produce high-quality weldments efficiently. You will work closely with production teams to ensure seamless integration of robotic welding processes into manufacturing operations. This role requires strong technical skills in robotic programming, welding techniques, and a keen attention to detail to achieve precise welds according to specifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate Robotic Welding Systems: Set up, program, and operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding tasks accurately and efficiently.
  2. Programming and Troubleshooting: Write and modify robotic welding programs as needed to optimize weld quality, cycle time, and efficiency. Troubleshoot programming errors and equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  3. Quality Control: Inspect weldments visually and using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. Make adjustments to welding parameters as necessary to maintain quality.
  4. Material Handling: Load and unload workpieces onto robotic welding fixtures safely and efficiently. Coordinate with material handling personnel to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of components.
  5. Maintenance and Calibration: Perform routine maintenance tasks on robotic welding equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacing worn parts. Calibrate equipment to maintain optimal performance and accuracy.
  6. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating robotic welding systems. Identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including welding parameters, inspection results, and equipment maintenance logs. Prepare reports as required by management.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in robotic welding operations.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional vocational training or certification in welding technology or robotics is preferred.
  2. Experience: Min 3+ Years of proven experience operating robotic welding systems in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with robotic programming languages.
  3. Technical Skills: Strong understanding of welding processes, including gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and/or gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications.
  4. Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain a high level of precision and accuracy in welding operations. Strong visual inspection skills to identify defects and imperfections in weldments.
